A Family Story more than a Century in the Making

From grazing country to vineyard, Ten Mile Track is the continuation of a family story shaped by land, seasons and generations of care.

Our Story

The Ten Mile Track story began over 100 years ago when the Williams family settled in the Scottsdale region. After farming across the district, they eventually settled on the current site in the mid-1960s for its beautiful outlook and fertile soils.

Ten Mile Track is a true family-run vineyard, with all of us involved in every part of the journey - from working in the vineyard to making the wine and sharing it with others.

Between us, we come from backgrounds in wine, art, music, teaching and performance - not exactly the traditional vineyard resume - but that’s part of what makes Ten Mile Track what it is.

Built Slowly, Grown Together

Cameron Wilson

Cameron Wilson, grandson of Graham “Granda” Williams, is the winemaker. His winemaking journey began in Tasmania while working as a journalist with the ABC in Hobart, covering the early stages of what is now an internationally recognised wine region.

After working in media across Sydney and Melbourne, he made the switch into winemaking full-time.

He now brings over a decade of experience across Australia’s leading cool-climate regions, including the Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley, as well as Sonoma, California.

A Family Venture

While Cameron leads the winemaking, Ten Mile Track remains very much a family project. More than a century after “Granda” first worked this land, Sandra and Lach, together with Cameron, Catherine, Olivia and Ben and their families, are helping write its next chapter.

Each family member steps into the work in their own way - contributing skills, ideas and perspective as the vineyard continues to evolve. Together they are building on generations of connection to the property while creating something new for future generations to enjoy.

Before The Vineyard

The name “Ten Mile Track” originates from an historic family association with the track which is located directly below the slopes of the vineyard. It remains a quiet but enduring landmark in the landscape, carrying forward the history of the land and its enduring connection to the family.
