A New Chapter for Ten Mile Track

From the first vines to the first vintage, a quiet family project begins to take shape.
After several years of planning, planting and patiently waiting for vines to mature, it feels fitting to finally welcome visitors to the Ten Mile Track website.
Like most things at Ten Mile Track, the website has been a family effort. While the vineyard itself sits on land our family has farmed for generations, bringing the brand to life has involved contributions from across the family - from working in the vineyard and helping manage the property, through to developing labels, reviewing designs and sharing ideas along the way.
The launch of the website coincides with another significant milestone: the release of our first Chardonnay.
Produced from fruit grown on the Old Tractor Block, our inaugural Chardonnay represents the culmination of years of work establishing the vineyard and learning how this site responds to the unique conditions of north-east Tasmania. While only a small release, it marks the beginning of what we hope will be a long future for Ten Mile Track wines.
Not far behind it is our first Pinot Noir, which is progressing well and expected to be released later this year. And of course, we have our next Chardonnay on the way.
For a family vineyard of this size, every vintage teaches us something new. Scottsdale is not traditionally thought of as a wine-growing district, but the same fertile soils, cool climate and long growing season that have supported generations of farming also provide an exciting opportunity to produce wines of quality and character.
Another enjoyable part of the journey has been seeing the visual identity of Ten Mile Track take shape. Our first wine label was created by my wife, Catherine De Boise - a Mornington Peninsula artist whose interpretation of the landscape has helped to capture something special about tour family land in Scottsdale. Seeing the labels on bottles for the first time was one of those moments when the project began to feel real.
As the vineyard continues to mature, we'll use this journal to share occasional updates from the property, news about upcoming releases and observations from the season.
For now, we're pleased to finally open the gates and share a little more of what we've been building here above Ten Mile Track.
